Jersey, Kathy, Vikram Vedha – Which South Remake Are You Excited For? vote now

Over two decades, we have seen many South films remake in Bollywood, which became a money-spinner at the box office. Salman Khan’s Wanted, Ranveer Singh’s Simba and Shahid Kapoor’s Kabam Singh with Hungama, Halchul, Chup Chup Ke, we have many examples of how Bollywood was roasted on the South remake. Though we may question the originality of the films, but on the positive side, we should be happy that a regional content is getting acceptance in Bollywood through remakes. As many South remakes have done wonders on ticket windows, Bollywood has taken some more amazing screenplays from the South and they are already in discussion. After Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is doing another Telugu remake, Jersey, which is an adaptation of the 2019 Nani starrer film of the same name. The play drama will be directed by Gautam Tinnanuri, who also played the original. It also stars Pankaj Kapoor and Mrinal Thakur in lead roles. Karthi’s 2019 superhit Kathy will be a remake with superstar Ajay Devgan. It will be bankrolled by Reliance Entertainment and Dream Warrior Pictures with Ajay’s own banner ADFF. Vikram Vedha

Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan’s gangster film will be made in Hindi with Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Reportedly, Pushkar-Gayatri, who directed the original project, will also come on board for the remake and will be co-produced by Baby, A Wednesday and special 26 director Neeraj Pandey, who has bought the remake rights to the film.


Siddharth Malhotra has come onboard for Arun Vijay’s Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil action-thriller, Thammadam. Also starring Mrinal Thakur in a pivotal role, the film will be produced by Murad Khetani and Bhushan Kumar, and will be Vardhan Ketkar’s directorial debut.


Bhumi Pednekar Starr Durgavati, G. Is a horror film directed by Ashok, based on his own 2018 Telugu film Bhagamathi. In the film, Bhumi will act as an IAS officer, a role written by Anushka Shetty in the original version.
