Actor Robert Pattinson has revealed that he lied to his tenet director Christopher Nolan to make it to the screen test of Matt Taves’ superhero film The Batman. In an interview with The Irish Times, the British star said he cited a “family emergency” for his absence from the sets of Tenset, but the filmmaker was quick to find out the truth.

“It’s fun because Chris is so secretive about everything to do with his films. And then I had to be really secretive about the Batman stuff. “So I had to lie to Chris about going for a screen test – I said that I have a family emergency. And as soon as I said ‘this is a family emergency’ he said: ‘You’re auditioning Batman Are you not? ‘Pattinson said.

The 34-year-old actor said that Nolan’s much-anticipated espionage thriller helped him in The Batman audition as he found himself too fit to try to keep up with co-star and former football player John David Washington on the set.

The film also stars Elizabeth Debki, Kenneth Branagh, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Caine, Clemens Posey, Dimple Kapadia and Himesh Patel.
